I just got an offer of $36505 for a 2020 Max Tow Sport S with 850 miles on it. Sticker was $45785... Looks like they are ~12% below the mid KBB trade in number listed with the offer.

Out of curiosity I put mine in and got a message something along the lines of they were confused about my Jeep and I’d get an email. That was yesterday. I haven’t received an email yet.

KBB says in good condition, mine is worth $48,5xx on trade in. I got $8k off so the sale price on mine was $46,865. That’s pretty solid.

I forgot to mention in many states like N.C. if you buy the same model year you only pay sales tax on the New value difference.
Yeah, I keep getting cheaper (or is it more responsible) and I haven’t paid sales tax on my last several car purchases. Except, this one. I leased it because it was a stupid good lease deal and the trade in credit doesn’t apply to leases so I pay like $17/mo in sales tax.

You might want to try creating a new account and resubmitting the quote request. This happened to me once or twice and I have to get all kinds of people on the phone to fix it. Anyway, you should have at least 2 Carvana accounts, one to test price and a second to lock in pricing.

My sport is down to $37,242 now... so glad I pulled the trigger at $39K+ as it seems they fixed the pricing a little bit (that's still basically MSRP).

I don’t want to sell mine. I was just curious.

My offer was just under $35000. I have 7000 miles on mine. Sticker price was $48,250 when I bought it. Paid almost $45000 even out the door. I believe I was just over $41k before taxed and dealer fees. That's pretty significant depreciation. That's why I only buy a new car every 15-20 years. I replaced a 2002 TJ.

I ended up selling an old car to Shift (2008 Toyota Rav4 with 98k miles).

I think the circumstance where Carvana, Shift, or Vroom pay more is a little dependent on the vehicle type and what inventory is needed at any moment.

This tool here (which I helped provide input for) has been helpful in cross-comparing offers.

the gold rush on used trucks is perceived to be over now but if the draconian measures come about again, likely we’ll see it happen again

Carvana didn't help me with anything regarding a Gladiator valuation (except for fun) but for my wife's car it certainly helped- her 6 yr old car was valued $3k over the highest KBB valuation (!) so we promptly traded it in, using this as leverage. Seems the Gladiator valuation here in the upper Midwest doesn't seem to be as high as some of the other southern geographic areas
