Was there any resolution to the clunking you were hearing? I just installed rock sliders and I am hearing similar clunking/ popping.

Unfortunately no real resolution. I took these off and ran the stock sliders, no noise or issue for coupe of months. Just last week I ordered the new LOD Destroyer Rock Sliders. These are the new full strength one's vs the armor lite. I've had these for only 3 days, but zero noise issues.

The only thing I can tell is that the CBI's mount to the frame and body, whereas the LOD are frame only. I think the body and frame were racking differently and causing the bending metal noise. When I took off the CBI sliders I noticed one tab was bent and a few "rub" marks on the mounts. I can't confirm, but I believe that is where the noise came from, essentially it didn't sit properly.

All good though. I'm really liking the LODs thus far and the kids said they are easier to step up on than the CBIs, so it all worked out (so far)..

Did the CBIs mount to the body bolts? That would’ve been my guess.

I had a clunk go away after re-tightening all my front control arm bolts.
Glad you like your new skids.

Yes, mounted to body bolts and pinch seam bolts. Tried loosening all of them and retighten, still had the same noise. Something didn't align properly is all I could conclude.
