Interesting thing happened with the Gladiator last night to my wife and figured I would share in case this happens to anyone else. She went out to the Jeep after work, got in and started it fine but immediately the check engine light and the service stability control lights came on. It would go into gear but wouldn't move and the center screen said to put the vehicle back in park (similar to what happens if you try and move with the door open). Once in park, you could shut the engine off but not shut the Jeep off completely and the center screen warning said to put the vehicle in park even though it was. So basically it was dead in the water... I called my buddy who is a master tech with Dodge Ram Jeep and he looked at a fuse schematic and told me to pull the 15amp fuse from the F10 slot labeled KIN/RF HUB/ESCL (see pictures). Pulled it, waited a few seconds and plugged it back in and everything went back to normal. No check engine light, no stability control warning, went in and out of gear etc. I need to get it to him so he can pull codes and figure out why it freaked out but though I would share in case anyone gets stranded, and I will update this after the dealer gets a look at it.

Update- Took the Gladiator in today and it had 20 something U codes stored from the PCM, ABS, TCM, and DTCM. Cleared all of the codes and recheck module communication and all of it seems fine. My buddy told me there is a TSB/STAR case for this and it has to do with a grounding issue somewhere behind the glove box but nothing found definitive... Hopefully it doesn't happen anymore

Well, happened again this morning... Exact same thing, only this time it is being towed as the fuse reset trick didn't work. I'm just glad it didn't happen while I was on the trail Sunday. I will update this again once the dealer lets me know what they find for anyone following this

Update- Apparently they found an issue with the transmission valve body and replaced it today. They are going to drive it today and tomorrow and then let me know what happens from there

I have the same problem with my 2020 Gladiator. The dealer has had it for two weeks and does not know how to fix it. Can you tell me if they fix this problem and if they did what did they replace? The name of the dealer that fix it would be helpful too. Thanks

Has had the same problem happen last night on 2021 JT a bit after driving on parkway that is under re-pavement (so very rough when you hit at speed) . Disconnecting battery reset everything and atm everything seems fine... Will update if it happens again.

Hey there! So this is exact thing happened to me this morning, ended up getting it towed to my house and saw your post. Resetting that fuse ended up working but now I'm scared to drive it again. What did the dealership say was wrong?

I am seeing quite a few folks talknig about loose or poorly seated fuses from the factory too. Some say that after checking and reseating the fuses, the problem is solved, others say it comes back later. I have a similar issue with my 2022 Mojave on the highway two days ago. CEL, Limp mode, dash said service Stability control and I got the red flashing lighning bolt (Electronic Throttle Control). Stopped and restarted and only the CEL stayed on and it drove fine so I went straight to the dealer and dropped it off. That was day 2 of ownership, brand new, drove it less that 200 miles. Ridiculous !

Exact same thing happened to my 2020 that I just purchased but with 50k miles.

We’re you able to resolve this issue? I’m currently having the same issue with my 2020 gladiator rubicon as well.

Just curious if this had been resolved? I had the same thing happen twice to my 2022 Gladiator. The first time the dealership reset everything and recharged the battery, and it was fine for 3 months. The second time, after consulting factory engineers, it was determined that the problem was the RF Hub. It was replaced along with the battery, since it drained again, and has been running fine for another 3 months. So far so good?

The same happened to me. Jeep Mojave 2022, purchased new from a NJ Jeep dealer with 40 miles on speedometer. After about 20K mileage "Electronic Stability Control Failure" message came up on the highway, transmission statrted loosing its traction. After getting off the highway, stopped at the light and transmission got stuck at D while screen suggested to move the shifter from P to D. After 20 min the car restarted as if nothing ever happened. I took the car to the original dealer and they could not reproduced the issue. Gave me the car back as is. Just for the following week getting stuck on the highway and the car being towed to the same dealer. Now they claimed (after keeping the car almost for 3 weeks of research) that the root cause was - the loose electrical socket to the transmission that cause draining both main and auxiliary batteries and thus making transmission stuck. So they changed the socket, both batteries. Solved..?
One month passed... Car is still under 36K original warranty. Now, this week, I am on my home away trip for a retreat in Adirondacks - same thing happened again! Got stuck with the same scenario. Now I have to find a tow from upstate NY to southern NJ dealer (about 300+ miles) and find a one-way rental car to get back home which is hard to find in the area where I am now.
Reading through the topics on this forum I found A NUMBER of similar cases with very little mileage Jeeps. How in the world this can happen with cars with 65K+ price tag while under original warrany??? And not a single case was resolved by Jeep pointing out the exact root cause. Just murky theories and speculations. Hoping that the same issue would magically never come back again.
Anyone knows...???
I am considering to file a case with NHTSA. I don't want to get stuck for the third time in the left lane on the highway I-87 in the middle of the night in upstate NY where everyone is driving at ~75+... Just to get killed.
Thank you, Jeep.
