My best hand calculated was 21.6 MPG on my Sport. Recently put on 33's and that has dropped to mid 19's so far.

How were you over 100 miles into that tank but the fuel gauge still reads 100% full? 🤔

Because I calculated with a full 18.3 gallon tank of fuel like you had in the picture and 452 miles of range would put you somewhere at about 25mpg. not hating btw, just genuinely curious!
Well when I fill up my tank. I'm always topping it off to the brim. So all the way to the top of the filler neck. Not sure if that is bad or good. But I've had no troubles so far. Not exactly sure how much the filler neck holds either.

I bought my 2021 willys gladiator 1 month ago. It had 28100 miles on it. Now it has 30800 miles. Loaded. I wanted a convertible but needed a truck. WIN WIN. I started hypermiling it. Shift into neutral on all down hills, I do the speed limit, 65 on interstate, locked in CC in 8th gear. I think I confused the computer. You can see in the pictures for my proof. I hopped in and gas gauge said LOW, 15 MILE RANGE. So I filled up. It took 18.1 gallons. I got 367 miles on that 18.1 gallons. It said my new range was 405 miles. Im pretty sure i could get 425 to 450 miles using a FULL TANK OF FUEL. The actual 22 gallons. Anyway, I am running the AT tires at 37psi. I am loving these numbers. And yes, I do take it off road, no rock crawls, just hills, mud and dirt. I am absolutely loving this vehicle. And this is my first Jeep. I just turned 55.
FWIW, fuel gauges in Jeeps have never been known to be terribly accurate, so it's no surprise there was more fuel left in the tank than what the dash was saying. Regardless, that's pretty decent fuel mileage for a gasser.

Congrats on your new Jeep, good to hear you're getting good enjoyment out of it. :like:

Once the nozzle clicks off the first time. I can still squeeze another 3 gallons into the tank. Just have to watch out for the foam coming up the neck. The great thing about the diesel is. No evap can to worry about when filling up.

I got 24 MPG in my 2021 JT Mojave 3.6 gasser driving thru Nebraska with a tail wind in 2021. Fully loaded with gear, and my brother and I. He was 6'02 and about 260 lbs. (Covid got him 2 months later), I am 6'03 and about 230 lbs. Driving the speed of traffic, not "hypermiling". I had to google hypermiling.... to see what that is.

So, hypermiling. Now I know why I see these pricks driving like zombies, slower than the speed of traffic, like a big FU to all other drivers, causing accidents. They are hypermiling! Where's a State Trooper or Hiway patrol when you need them! "Look at this D1c# holding up traffic!" IT IS UNSAFE DRIVING.

No offense to the OP. I'm just sayin'.

Just pull over and I'll give you he $10 in gas that your saving so you can drive safely and stop killing people in collisions trying to get around your inconsiderate - slow ass. You guys are expensive to everyone normal.

F your gas mileage, you are killing innocent people. Rant over.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I had never heard of hypermiling either, so thanks for looking it up for me. My experience has been that it is usually some prick in a Toyota that is holding up a whole line of traffic on a two-lane road that has too much traffic to pass, because they are driving 10 mph under the speed limit. Then they get on some internet forum and brag about what gas mileage they get in the total gutless wonder vehicle they are driving. And they brag about how reliable it is too, like yours would ever break either if you never got it over 2500 RPM in its entire life.

Have to disagree here. I calculated mine last week and it was within .3mpg in accuracy. This was based on miles driven and gallons used to drive them at fill up. I thought that was pretty good. Tire size updated via Tazer as well.

To be clear: Driving over the posted speed limit IS SAFER than driving the posted speed limit IF EVERYONE else is driving over the posted limit.

While and if everyone is doing 80 mph in a 65 mph posted zone... The guy or girl that fly's by at 120 MPH is SAFER TO EVERYONE ELSE than the "hypermiler" going the posted 65.

Wake up please. It's common sense.

Hypermiler folks, please pull your head out of your back side... before someone runs their front bumper up your backside. YOU cause accidents.

You're a retired first responder. That's not what I was expecting.

What about all of those work vehicles that are gps monitored? If I drive like everyone else. I get dinged on my work app for going over the speed limit. Get so many dings and I can kiss my next pay raise good bye along with my job.

Hypermiling isn't about driving 65mph. Its a lot about gradual acceleration as opposed to gunning it when a light turns green, using cruise control, gradually coasting to a stop instead of slamming your brakes on, maintaining a steady speed(again, doesnt have to be 65, I like to cruise at 70-75mph). I do all these techniques and get great gas mileage. The important thing is to not hog the passing lanes and understand the flow of traffic.

I wholeheartedly disagree that the random person going 120mph is less dangerous than the person going the speed limit, because to go 120, you'll have to bob and weave in and out of traffic like a madman to maintain that speed. I encounter that constantly on California highways, makes my blood boil.

I noticed a difference going from stock tires on my Overland to the General tires - a bit wider, more aggressive of course.

Winter is 17s to 18s, then warmer weather it jumps up. OF course there's winter fuel, and the weather BOTH impacting MPG. Cold air is denser, more drag, and it's a given that winter blends get worse mpg.

Sure -ok. Come visit I80 here and see who causes the wrecks. It's not the slower ones in the right lane. Sorry, I go the limit (when my wife is with me) and 9 over when she's not. I've witnessed too much here (and having worked in a shop that towed for Iowa and the local city cops)

Disagree with at least half of your statement.
the asshole going past at 120 is hardly safer. That really had me smiling. They are the ones we see with their vehicle rolled in the ditch because they didn't get slowed for the heavy traffic up ahead. Yeah, saw that. Also have been very nearly rear ended at times - when I was going as fast as traffic would allow - by some ass wanting to go faster.

I'm getting some real fun out of some of the stuff tonight.
