Hi all
I've got a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with a manual transmission. A few years ago I had a weird event where after some offroading and letting it sit for a few hours, the clutch pedal stopped engaging completely; It felt light until it bottomed out, and I couldn't shift at all while the engine was running. I could still shift gears while the engine was off though, so with the assistance of a friend I put it in 2nd, got a rolling start from a friend, and then managed to slowly pilot it home. The clutch had started to recover a bit during the trip, and by the time I got home I could shift gears again, although there was a bit of a deadzone at the top of the pedal.
It's never gone away, and while I can shift gears and everythign seems to work fine, that deadzone still bugs me. I might be gaslighting myself, but I don't recall it being there prior to the weird event, and I've never managed to get a straight answer about it. I've had it inspected shortly after the initial problems, but the dealership told me everything was fine. Recently I finally managed to get the clutch recall fix done, and they told me everything still looked fine, but that deadzone is still there.
I've uploaded a short video on youtube, here:
It comes and goes a little bit, but never as bad as the first time. The brake fluid reservoir, including the little section at the back where the clutch fluid lives, is completely full. I'm wondering if I need to get one of those pressure things and flush out the fluid, maybe there's some air trapped in the line somewhere. Or maybe I"m just imagining something?
Interested in opinions.
