Hey everyone. Thanks for having me. Ive never had a jeep anything before and I'm looking to start with a gladiator. Im wondering if those concept ones are real and worth waiting for? I really like the wayout configuration. I know with other car manufacturers concepts rarely make it to production. Is this the case with jeep?

Yeah, you won’t see those exact models hitting showrooms...but most of the modifications will be available through Mopar. Aftermarket companies will also offer similar mods, in many cases of higher quality, and sometimes at lower cost.

Just keep in mind, if it’s crazy cheap, it’s probably made in China and may not last. It’s almost best to find a company as local as possible and build a relationship with them. Everything you add will probably add weight. Weight kills performance. Acceleration, braking, and economy. Plan for that by upgrading brakes, but also through engine programmers, and buying light weight mods to begin with. Try to make added weight functional, not just for looks

So true! I swear a lot of Wrangler owners add bigger tires, heavier wheels, and a winch just to get the look. It makes me wince to think of the weight they added for no reason if they don’t go off-road regularly.

Great stuff! Thank you guys! Also am I wrong or are most of these mods pretty simple to do yourself? I really get that impression. Especially when comparing it to other vehicles where it looks pretty difficult to do on your own.

One of the best things about Jeeps is that most of the mods are able to be done in a garage with average tools and skill.

Yep, just expect to spend some money on tools. Aside from a good socket set, I highly recommend ratcheting wrenches. Assuming this is similar to the JK, then 16 and 18mm are most often needed. Consider a torque wrench from Harbor Freight...with a coupon, they’re only about $10 and tend to be more reliable than a lot of expensive name brands

There are YouTube videos for almost every project you’ll do. Also, Jeep people like to wrench about as much as they like to wheel...find a local group to get involved with and you’ll be amazed how much help you can drum up with a cooler full of beer and some food.

Jeep basically builds those concepts to gauge interest in specific design elements to introduce on future Jeep products or accessories.

With the Wayout concept, almost everything on it can be purchased and added to your Jeep. Even the colour will be available later this year. The only things that are custom one off parts is the bed rack, the air compressor panel, and the seats. Basically everything else can be bought, and almost all of it from Jeep/Mopar.
