Hi folks,

Interested in the Coverkings headliner to reduce sound and heat in the summer. The tricky thing is that I have a wedge camper (super pacific / GFC style) on my truck that prevents the rear hard top from coming off.

Has anyone successfully installed CK headliners without removing the rear hard top? To those who’ve installed it, do you think it’s possible to do?

Unfortunately I don’t have a crane or hoist to remove the camper from the truck.

Thanks.

We removed the roof and to be honest it was the best decision. My wife and I did it without a hoist, the roof really isn't that heavy, awkward but not heavy. Good luck.

I don't think you'd be able to without removing it. Even if you could get the fabric around the roll bar, the sticky tape they provide is honestly the work of the devil and theres not way you'd get it in place without making a mess and probably ruining everything.

Oh it could be done, but it would be a royal pain.

Best way to do it for a good, solid application is off the JT, upside down on sawhorses or the ground with the appropriate protection under it.

Thanks for the intel. I figured that would be the case. Sounds possible, but the headache might make it prohibitive.

I did install hot heads, so I have some protection from the elements. I focus on other areas of the Jeep instead… floor, windshield cowl, etc.

I'd say if you actually wanna do it right take the top off. It's hard enough to get that thing using the glue strips or glue spray with it removed I can't imagine trying to do it with the top mounted.

Definitely a good time to find good friends and invite over for a BBQ topper removal and reinstall party. Likely fellow Jeeper's in your area may be game for a get together.
Oh, that was a thing years ago before the drive to 4x4 shop throw down C.C. and have it built. I remember many weekends a group of us showing up at buddies house and installing lift kits on numerous Jeeps.
