yeah when you are drifting these things, the brake handle will bend. Just get in the passenger side and bend it back. 
Tell me you haven't been in 4xLO much, without telling me :D That badboy is the afterthought of the all mighty Stalantis layout to keep the transfer case shifter from hitting the parking brake. It's the most janky, sloppy, "just make it work" OEM design i've ever seen.
