Has anyone ran into the jeep not turning all the way off. I replaced the head unit with the Alpine i509 head unit made specifically for the jl and jt. Ever since the dash has been stuck in a loop saying to push the clutch in and the start button to start the vehicle when I go to shut it off which drains the battery. If I disconnect the batteries completely and reconnect it will work properly for a couple of days and then start doing it again. Alpine says that they don't know what could be causing it and the dealership says they will need my vehicle for a week to try and diagnose it. I travel for work and have it loaded with tools and boxes so that isn't really an option. Anyone have suggestions or dealt with this before.

Did you take your doors off when you installed it or around that time? Could be a bent pin in the door wire harness not telling your dash that the door is open.

That or the tailgate is slightly ajar. I've been confused a time or two lol
Tailgate ajar? That something new in 2022? Mine has no indicator that the tailgate is open, and since the vehicle is DESIGNED to operate with the tailgate ajar, it seems odd that doing so would cause issues.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did check those things. It appears that for some reason the taser started draining the battery and when it gets to a certain level the dash stays on kind of like a warning. I removed the taser and I stopped having the problem. Kept it out a couple of weeks. I updated the firmware and reinstalled today will let you know if anything changes.

No, as I've run with mine not fully closed, and have run with it not fully open - a 2022.
It doesn't give a rip. There isn't even a switch there that I've ever seen.

You didn't mention a taser in your original post. That was the first thing I thought of, since that is such a common result of improper use of the taser that it's predominately mentioned in the user manual.

I didn't mention it because it had been installed for over a year and didn't have any problems. So as it wasn't changed didn't think it was causing it.

I perform 2 sleep cycles almost every night - the first one starts about 11PM, then I get up to pee about 3am, then start the second sleep cycle.

But did you make any tazer setting changes around the same time as you installed the radio?
I guess it's possible that since the radio is so integrated into the the Jeep's computer systems, simply changing the radio changed enough internal settings that the tazer needs a proper reboot as described anyway.

I didn't make any changes but it could have been searching for something that it wasn't finding since the radio was changed.

I think I would install it, do the sleep cycles and stuff, and see if that fixes things. I'd probably also shoot off a msg to Z-Automotive to see if this is something they've encountered before. First I've heard of it. Might save someone else a headache down the road if that's all it takes.

I swear I saw my interior light stay on because my tailgate was not closed all the way.

There is no indicator that the tailgate is open though, just wanted to clear that up.
