So it basically does nothing much on a Sport S. I'm good with not worrying about it anymore. Seems like there could have been a better use for it. Thanks!

There is a light in your interior door handle too that this controls. At least it's there on the overland anyway, ymmv.

They're there on the Sport S too, just nearly invisible.

Got it. Sadly, no footwell light on the Sport S. I should have mentioned the model.

There is a light for the driver's side footwell on a Sport S.

I just pulled this picture from the googles...

It's the one on the right (not the one with the arrow pointing to it).

There is a detent at the top of the roller that locks that sumbitch on full blast and it's TERRIBLE at night.

There is a courtesy light (comes on with the dome light) but not an ambience light.

Perfect spot for it. Having one installed at the RV dealership when they finish our build. Not sure where it will go. Would have been cool there.

If you go out when it's really dark, turn on the parking lights, dial the left thumbwheel all the way up, you'll see a slight glow behind the inside front door handles (I didn't look to see if they're on the back doors.) On the higher models, there are ambience lights in the footwells, too.
The lights in the cup holders are controlled by the instrument light dimmer. Go figure.
