Took my wifes renegade for an oil change and while there the sales guy who sold me my gladiator asked how things were with the glady. I said things were going good so far but it seems like the glady likes to wander a bit but just a bit and I'll continue too watch. He didn't come clean on the steering box issue just basically said its a jeep thing. When I get my first oil change I will show them the paper. Bought 2 jeeps from him but won't buy another. I'm not having any big issues with the steering like some have had here but thought he would show more concern.

Cut him some slack. Very few sales guys ever see service bulletins. If you read this forum it appears very few service managers read the service bulletins.

Yeah, plus up until the TSB came out it was just “that’s how they drive”. Maybe you should let him know about the TSB so the next time someone says something to him he will have the info. Plus he sells the vehicles and doesn’t repair them. Since it isn’t a recall and he isn’t seeing every Jeep on the lot having the steering box replaced, he would probably have no knowledge of it. I would also assume that the large number of Jeep owners also have no knowledge of it.

I was wondering that...I also wonder how many have the box and don't have issues. I can do 70-75 and it doesn't wander much...but now that I know...do I want the good box..frig yea...for what I paid for the jeep I feel I should have it.

I went to the trouble of putting longer LCA's on the front end to get enough caster to drive on the freeway. You damned well better believe I'm getting the box fixed! Ten years from now, who knows what wear and tear will look like with an Al case.

Sales people are really never exposed to TSBs. Recalls sometimes, but not always.
TSBs are only known by the shop when the shop supervisor insists people keep up or a customer complains and they look to see if there's any bulletins about it.
But a sales person to know of any issues? Not likely.
