I though dealers could re-calibrate the speedometer and TPMS system if you didn't want to buy an external device to do it yourself. But my dealer's parts guy wants to charge me $125 for an AEV Procal Module AND for $100 worth of labor to spend the 5 minutes to open the box and then use it to re-calibrate things after a 35" tire upgrade.
Are they trying to just scam me? (It sure feels like it, $225 to do this seems insanely high.) Do dealers actually use AEV's modules to handle the re-calibrations?
Edit - For $329 (just $100 more), couldn't I just buy a Tazer JL Mini and change the tire size and TPMS settings myself? Is there some step I'm missing here?
