You are happy to install a new steering stabilizer in those same temps? It's going to be 50f this week there? That's shorts weather for me! I'm assuming you are in NJ based on your profile. If wrong I apologize.

Bottom line, your Jeep shouldn't need an aftermarket stabilizer to make it right unless you want it to. But, we all understand that too!!

Agree it shouldn't, not with 20k miles. i am driving each weekend so don't have a lot of time to spend on this, a ss is 30 min max. Just trying to understand if anyone else got a temporary stability out of it. also got the feedback of tightening bolts and stepping on the gas to see if I threw a weight, so moving in the right direction.

1. You say it's sloppy out,.. cold.. most common issue is snow pack/ice on inside of a rim.
2. God damn.. take that thing in it's too new.. if you can afford 45k for a new vehicle you can afford to not wrench on a "guess".

At this stage and before buying any unnecessary parts an hour spent inspecting, checking fastener torque and tire pressure would be time well spent. If all checks out OK then go with the bandaid and see if it will get you through to spring. However, simply changing the SS may not stop DW. Wish you an easy fix.

Do you know if the steering gearbox was ever upgraded to the steel one from the original aluminum gearbox?
Steel will be black in color and a magnet will stick to it.

Check all bolts and nuts of course, but also check JOINTS. Loose joints can be an issue.
A loose joint, such as the joints at the ends of the drag link, tie rod ends and so on, can lead to bad things.
I didn't see, if you included the information - is the truck STOCK? Stock wheels, stock tires, no lift, etc.?

Have you rotated tires?
Quick, easy and cheap way to check for a balance issue.

Yes obviously check everything and fix what you find, buut the honest truth is that most Jeeps I check out are sano, yet have DW. In that case I toss on the monotube stablizer.........problem solved!
That was exactly my experience. After having the truck evaluated by my local shop for any loose or worn components, which they found none, I went with a Falcon steering stabilizer and done. (all this at about 75,000 miles on odometer)
