So I'm a minimalist when it comes to factory badges and decals. People will know its a Mojave based on the hood, shocks and interior so no really worried about an identity crisis LOL.

I proficient at the removal process but seeking advice for anything I should know ahead of time.

1)All of the badges and decals on both front fenders will be removed
2) The "Mojave" hood decals will be removed and replaced with a matte black with a gloss black color configuration
3) Jeep badging on the tailgate will be removed in order to match the color configuration to match the front hood decals.

Which badged have holes remaining when you remove them?

Thanks in advance!

I plan on starting debadging as well when i get some time. From what i have seen is the tailgate is the only one that will leave 2 holes. And obviously the circle badge has an indention.

The tailgate has holes as mentioned and the driver side badge has an indent although I have seen people put GMRS antennas there, or just debadge the easy stuff and don’t worry about the tailgate and badge. I seem to have gone the opposite direction taking off the black Gladiator decal and putting on the 80th gladiator badges, really against my way in past but oh well…..Jack

I’m doing the same. I think @chesafreak nailed it. For me I will only have the rear Jeep badge due to the holes, I already bought a replacement and painted the letters black and left the red rubicon outline. The trail rated badge will be removed and the antenna will be relocated and replaced with my overland bound badges.

Thanks Gents, I will leave the Desert Rated badge for now..........I want to craft up something special for that later, again in some sheen of black.

Yeah that’s my headache now the overland bound badges are like a dark gun metal but not black. The numbers on them are laser etched so if I prep and paint the badge I lose the number so I’m thinking I’ll have to paint it back in by hand.

Chemically strip it, that should not remove the etched number

The etching isn’t deep all its pretty much just on the surface so I think when I paint it black, it will cover it up. I have a few I’ll experiment with one.
