Needed new wheels for my 2017 Ford Transit Connect cargo van that I bought used a couple of weeks ago. It came from NY state and the stock steel wheels were so badly rusted that hours of grinding, wire wheeling and phosphoric acid treatment left me with no confidence that the rust would not shortly return through the primer and paint I layered on. Many of this forum’s posters have praised Discount Tire. So, I bought some alloy wheels from DT on line and made an appointment for 9:45 AM this morning. The shop is about 75 minutes away in WV. Since I subscribe to the adage that, unless you’re early, you’re late, I arrived at DT about 50 minutes early. Before I was out of my van in their parking lot, a DT rep was greeting me, checking my tire treads and logging me in. Tom, the rep, was extremely polite, warm, efficient and professional. Told it should take about 70 minutes to change all 5 wheels with mounting and balancing, I sat in the waiting area and started reading. 30 minutes later, I am out the door and on my way home, before the time of my scheduled appointment at 9:45! I am as impressed with Discount Tire’s customer service, prices and performance as I can ever remember being for any similar purchase and service. DT has a customer for life.
