Door hinge replacement, stripped torx head removal

Hey everybody, was swapping the hinges on our 2020 and got all but 2 done. I have gone through 3 T-50 bits and have 3 bolt heads that I’m pretty sure that even with a new bit, it still may not work. Besides drilling them out, does anyone have a good solution to getting the bolts with semi-stripped heads out. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Use an E Z Out extractor bit that is sized for the “hole” in the head of the Torx bolt.

Try removing interior panel so you can soak the bolts with penetrating oil. Also heat cycling stuck bolts is very effective. Have to be super cautious near painted finishes.

I second the E-Z-out idea. Shouldn't be much of a problem since the bolts are already rounded out. Just get a good set, right size, lightly tap it with a hammer to seat it and work it carefully until it comes out. Penetrating oil wouldn't hurt either as mentioned above. I used the E-Z-out and penetrating oil to get two broken spark plugs out of my 5.9 magnum block last year. Feels oh so good in side after you get it out. Good luck!

can you give some advice on how to do this. been trying to remove the hinge on my jeep and striped out the bolt and even broke an e-z out bit in the bolt.

After removing the interior panel, hopefully you have some exposed threads inside the door. The most effective means of heat soaking them would be with an induction heater bolt remover. Available on Amazon.
