My 2023 gladiator (3.6L) was making a high pitch noise while idiling, took it in to dealer …. They need to replace e-torque motor!
Is this normal? Only 6000 miles … glad covered under warranty!

E-torque doesn't exist on a Gladiator. Maybe just the alternator?

Well I will have to inquire further with dealer! They may not know what they are talking about!!
either that or they confused you with a customer that had a e torque wrangler. Odds are its a battery or alternator issue that may have been miscommunicated

Ok … when I picked it up I saw actual notes…
Repair tech wrote “etorque generator making noise . Replace generator and belt .. parts on order”
Apparently the person who called me misinterpreted message. She corrected herself when I asked her about a gladiator and etorque motor.
I confirmed the parts ordered where a generator and belt

Looks like you are getting a reman unit instead of new one.
I went to the Mopar website and it looks like all “generators” are rebuilt and “alternators” are not noted as rebuilt.
I’m not sure why i need a generator vs an alternator?
