Easiest Amp Addition

I have the 8.4, but I added Fosgate speakers all around with a 5 channel amp. I used the Fosgate DSR1 for the interface comes with an app for your phone to completely tune the system.

Well, I chatted with another local shop today and here is what they suggested.

He talked me into the sub as I was going to add that later down the road.

You can't go wrong with JL.

I'd consider swapping the Alpine speakers for JL.

Which JL speaker would you suggest? The alpine R series appears to have some good reviews.

Those Alpine speakers do have good specs. Better than the comparably priced JL option (C2-650X).

The JL M6 marine series seriously rock. They are pricey though at $600/pair and you don't really need the added cost of marine speakers. But they sound awesome.

Maybe the Alpine R series is your best choice.

We actually talked about the JLM6, but they said for the cost difference they didn't think it was worth it.

We also talked about upgrading the soundbar with the Alpine SPC-65-JLT, but I had already put the Kenwoods in there so I am skipping these for now. Also at that cost, I am sure a better speaker can be retrofitted into the soundbar if I need to down the road.

Picked the truck up today and I am EXTREMELY happy. We ended up going to an 8" JL sub as it fit under the seat in the storage bin where the 10" was hitting the bottom of the bench seat.

Before the upgrade i would cruise with the system on level 25 and anything beyond that the difference was not noticeable. Now my comfortable level is 18-20 and keeps getting louder through the entire range.

I popped open the sunrider and rode with all windows down and it has plenty of power - excited to hear my music this summer with the doors and roof off!
