Engine pulling options

For those of you who have pulled the 3.6, how did you do it?
I don't really want to buy $300 plates to mount to the exhaust ports.
Would lifting straps work?

Lifting straps can work as long as they are not putting pressure on any breakable or easily damaged parts. The lifting plates make balancing the engine easier. With straps it may be more difficult to get the best angles when pulling or installing the engine.​

Thanks. I am sure it'll be easier to pull using those plates but they're a few hundred bucks so I wanted to see if there were other ways people have attached straps etc.

Look into rentals at auto parts stores.
