I just recently installed the mopar aux switch kit and after reconnecting the battery and starting the truck my ess service light is on. I tried restarting the truck a few times but its still there and even disconnected the main battery a for 30 minutes. Does anyone know an easy way to disconnect the Ess battery because with the main battery disconnected i think the secondary battery is still powering the computer and not letting it reset?

The negative line from the ESS battery needs disconnected from the frame and primary battery so that all current flow is stopped when the primary battery is disconnected.

The ESS light will come on when the ESS battery is low. The ESS battery would have been drained since it was powering everything while the main battery was disconnected during the AUX switch installation.

Disconnecting both batteries will reboot the system, but does not reset any codes. The ESS light comes on when there is a problem with the ESS system. The most common cause is a low charge or defective ESS battery.

I would also check all your fuses. I have read that the AUX Switch installation instructions have some errors, and if followed as written will cause some fuses to blow. The blown fuses also interfere with being able to program the system so the AUX Switches are recognized and become operational.

Would putting a trickle charger on the main battery also charge the aux battery?

Yes, that is supposed to charge both batteries. You could also try connecting it directly to the ESS positive terminal in the fuse box for about 12 hours, and then moving it to the main battery to finish.

The truck's built-in charger is a smart charging system that gives priority to the main battery. Just driving the truck should get it charged, but might take a couple days to do it.

Did the jscan enable switches and fix the ess warning on the dash
I forgot to mention. I had same issue after I installed aux switch bank. My ess warning light did go after a day and driving my vehicle. However, I have not flashed my Jeep to enable switches. Was looking for options on this

You can pay the dealer to do it. The other options are Jscan, AlfaOBD, or the Tazer. A security bypass cable and OBD dongle are required for Jscan and AlfaOBD. Zautomotive (Tazer) sells an Extension cable for the security bypass ports that is highly recommended for use with any of the three DIY options.

The ESS light went after I directly wired the orange wire from the switch harness to the orange wire on the jeeps harness. Do no trust the crappy connector the provide in the kit!
