Hey all. 1st post long time lurker. This is long winded so apologies! I have a ‘23 Gladiator Sport Max Tow with auto trans. 7k with basics on my buil: new bumper/winch, steps, skids so far. Doors are off (summer time!)

couple weeks ago we got these multiple errors on the dash and radio screen: 1. Airbags need servicing. 2. ESS disabled/not working. 3. SOS error (red light on top console by visors and error on radio). 4. When shifting into Drive “auto park disabled” and other word phrases not associated with my Gladiator 5. The seatbelt warning for driver side even though seatbelt is buckled.

took it to Autonation Jeep West in Denver and today they tell me a rodent chewed the passenger seat wiring harness??!! $1600 before tax and definitely not covered under warranty! They “forgot” to get pics of the chew while the seat was supposedly out. New harness should be here Monday. I told them I need to see this in person as I’ve ONLY ever owned Jeeps since the 70s and this is the 1st time ever Ive had a problem like this. I won’t sign off on the work yet till I see this.

Ive seen this same errors/issues on social media insta/tik tok, etc documented but for Jeeps that have doors on ( Gladiators, Cherokees and Wranglers) and so I’m a little leery about if what the dealer is saying is actually true or a cover up as it’s an easy way out when the doors are off.

So my question to the electrically knowledged:

Does this seem plausible being these Jeeps are heavily electrified?

seems fishy to me that I can find the same issues online, but separately and not together all at once like my issue. . I would have thought this would have been a bad over the air update as we’ve seen before, but maybe not?

i know comprehensive insurance will cover it but jack me in the long run so I’m just putting it out to better experts than I on this issue. Thanks for any and ALL help, thoughts and info!

People Work?
It really sounds like a low voltage issue. Common to throw all kinds of bogus error messages.

Plausible that it's a seat wiring issue - think of what's controlled by someone being in the seat, the air bags and so on - those messages all relate.
ESS, SOS, air bags, seat belts, autopark - it's all related.

Low voltage would be going into self-preservation mode.......... doesn't sound like low voltage to me. That's normally very difference messages. These all relate to seats, being in a seat, being buckled in, including ESS - it's related to being in a seat.

Totally plausible., but like @Lunentucker alluded to on the wire harness cost if that is the correct one, I would be asking what the actual breakdown for that $1600 cost entails because it seems like some hour padding may be going on.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Ive had time to settle after the shock. I’ll report back once I see the actual damage first hand. And I will definitely questioning the labor quote. Especially since they supposedly already had the seat out to see the damage and a harness replacement shouldn’t be taking 10-12 hours, even if that harness is a few hundred bucks. I have a sneaking suspicion that the center console has to come out for it and we all know that is a pain.
