Down here in South Florida, we don't get chilly often but a few weeks ago it was down in the 40's and this morning low 50's. Both days, I came to a stoplight shortly after beginning my morning commute and I saw near the hood what looked like "burning"...So of course, I thought the first time I was overheating or God forbid my truck was burning down. Pulled over and checked everything. Coolant good, nothing leaking, winch cables all good, no burning smell...nothing. SO...I assume it's just because it's chilly those few days, it's just condensation/moisture burning off since it did it today.

Any of my colder region folks able to confirm you see something similar? I've checked everywhere for any leaks and/or melted wires so I'm not too concerned.

Thanks!

Perfectly normal. I see this every morning, coming off of every vehicle on the road.

Really? Near the hood on every vehicle? I see exhaust condensation all the time in cold weather, but I've never seen any condensation vapor comping from under the hood or grille area unless it is cold & rainy.

Yes, in the mornings, I see both :). The morning frost has to go somewhere when it melts/evaporates.

Interesting. I don't see it on my own vehicle because I keep it in a garage. 15F here this morning, so plenty of vehicles with visible frost all over them on my morning commute, but I've never seen one 'steaming'. But I can see how it would happen under the right circumstances.

Maybe the humidity/saturation is different? I don't know. But I will say I notice it more on jeeps than on "normal" cars. Only during the first few minutes of the morning commute while stopped at a light (or after a carwash).

Thanks ya'll for the sanity check. Yeah...I forgot it rained yesterday and I didn't drive yesterday....so this morning, it piqued my interest again when I saw it. I never noticied it on my JK or any other vehicle really so just spooked me for a minute there!
