Your truck looks great and more importantly, seems methodical and well thought out. Those of us who pull trailers (mine: 1600 lbs teardrop camper) need to balance lift and tires with road manners and safety. Your lift height looks awesome and I'm envious, but that's too much for my trailer pulling safety. I'm looking forward to hearing about trail and trip hijinks.
Joshua Tree is da bomb! Been there twice and can't wait to return! I really want to do the Bradshaw trail. Any photos of that would be welcome!
Keep it goin'...

After nearly one year on the 38s, they feel kinda small. I have towed a UHaul trailer around town and it didn't exhibit any quirks, but you have the feel safe out there @CallMeJoe .

I plan to taking the truck more places to test the UD and it's durability across trails in my area.

Lately, I have been attempting to mount my ARB RTT to my Ace Engineering Upper Decker, but this is the roadblock that has stopped all progress.

The mounting systems are incompatible on each.

The Upper Decker does a fantastic job of keeping dust out of the bed of the truck, but the roof top tent mounts are too wide it appears to mount a tent.

At least I have a quality ground tent that works, although not as conveniently as the ARB Simpson III.

Should have gone 42’s. 38‘s are yesterday’s news and haven’t been ”big” since the TJ. That’s a spacer lift tire now

dont get me wrong, its a great looking build. Just dont understand why you’d go such a small tire with the money spent. Sell those 38’s to someone with a spacer lift and step up to the big leagues.

dude youre already like $20-25k in. What’s another 20, really? toss on those 42’s, go up just a little more, and get on the ‘gram. You could be a high level InstaFluencer.

My next set will be;
39" KM3s
38" Falken Wildpeak MTs
40" Milestar or something reasonably quiet.

I don't like worrying about the sidewalls or of chipping, but I haven't had a problem (knock on wood).

I'm not stepping down to a 37" for any reason. The clearance on these trucks require a larger tire, and my plan includes a ProRock 44 up front, RCVs and a rear truss all regeared.

40s might do the trick and still remain streetable for daily use. 42's push that envelope into the wastebasket 🗑🗑🗑..

good. 37’s are weak sauce for people like me driving stock jeeps or leveling kits. Its fine for pavement/mall crawling, but you cant wheel a 37 or even a 38 really.

Regear to 5.38 and go up. 40” MINIMUM, but i think you should run something beefy like a 42” Goodyear MTR.

I agree, but a 40" tire requires a Dana 60 front/rear combo and we're talking $10k+. Wife wants her Jeep at the end of this year, so not able to do tons at the moment.
