Extra storage, NOT!

You don't get extra storage when you don't get the up graded stereo with the removable speaker. There seems to be a panel, but I don't think this is the same pc of plastic that is in the upgraded stereo model, not sure if there would be a shelf behind it.

Yea, the panel is different. I ended up with the 7" stereo with the upgraded Alpine (But no portable speaker).

I think the breakdown is that they add the panel for the portable speaker with the Alpine upgrade (whether you add the speaker or not). For $295 I would have added it just for fun...just didn't come on the one I purchased.

Behind that panel (on mine) appears to the port for the remote speaker (although I am not sure what the dock looks like (still trying to see one).

Here are two pictures. One has the subwoofer and the Bluetooth, the other has neither. You can see there is a lot of extra space behind the seats without the speakers.

I see, the space is just open. I was not seeing how the whole speaker went in.
