So when I put my lift on yesterday the wiring plugged into the FAD was a nightmare getting off. Locker plug came out without issue. Broke the “clip” I guess on fad wiring. I’m assuming there’s a retainer or something on the female end that disintegrated when I finally yanked it off. Plugs back in, but unplugs without having to do any clips. Feel this is going to be an issue while driving. Anybody have any fix ideas or know parts to even search for?

I would take it off and determine which part broke. Take it to the stealership and see if it is a part in the catalog that can be swapped out. They carry all kinds of body fasteners and small pieces. If they’re price is high, which it probably will be, try to see if a local parts store has something to match.

If you don’t care about replacing clips you can wrap the heck out of it with silicon waterproof tape. I use this quite a bit sealing up connections that need to be waterproof. It wraps around itself and fuses together to make a very nice strong seal. When you wrap you need to make sure you pull it tight though to get a good seal.

It’s the plug on the FAD housing not the harness side. So I can plug in but even when I push in the little locking tab it has nothing to grab onto. Thought about the tape wrap if I can’t find what I need.

I gotcha. That might be a bit of a pain to replace. That hookup It’s probably built into some sort of housing itself isn’t it?

You can use a wire tie wrapped around the housing to pull the connector tight.

Yes it’s built into the housing on the FAD. Probably going to go with a waterproof tape repair for the time being.
