Finally a good USB C cable for the Gladiator or Wrangler

I finally found a good USB-C cable for the Gladiator. This USB-C cable works with CarPlay and allows you to close the Media Door. I know, right, it's those little things that count. I also have the console storage box that fits between the gear shift and the dashboard. It's perfect to put the other end of the cable in when not in use.

I do have this very same cable for that. I have run into several problems with it over the last year.

They mostly involve the phone (S26 Ultra, and the S24 Ultra before it) both telling me that the connection is unstable. Now, that may just be the individual cable, but watch out for it.

I am probably going to get another 90 degree head flat cable again, probably the same one. I would love one that is made slightly better, but I cant, for the life of me, find any other one than this very one.

Well, it started off working fine, for about 3 months, then the little messages of instability started. Also, for some reason, when my phone is plugged into the vehicle with that cable and into that usb-c port, as soon as it reaches 100%, it will completely lose connectivity. As in the system will get caught in a loop trying to connect through the cable, and wont, then switch to Android Auto, which seems to get the signal that the phone is plugged in, et cetera.

Highly annoying.

My experience with that cable wasn’t great but hopefully yours will be better. Mine lasted a couple of months then started losing connection when I swapped Gladiators. In fairness to the cable this was before I got the mount moved over from the other Jeep. I’d toss the phone on passenger seat and it would bounce around. I was a few hundred miles from home and bought a new cable rather than try to get it working again.

I bought these in 2022. Put one in the bathroom and one in the truck. After a couple years I started having connection issues with the one in the truck so I swapped them. My phone is a Galaxy S21 and just lays on the seat while driving. The cover doesn't go all the way down, but close enough for me.
