For two years I have been dealing with loose diamond back clamps. I did the shim install, but was still hesitant to crank them down enough to crush my plastic top caps. They were constantly loosening up. I Fabbed out the below as a proof of concept. I was going to make the whole thing from aluminum. But the wood works fine so no reason to swap it out. Essentially the goal is to keep the clamps aligned and provide force so they can’t slip backwards.

Came back today from dropping on some tires and this is what I found in my bed.
One clamp on both sides fell off.

I honestly don't recall. I think I ended up using scrap that I had available that was close enough.
I think I also had scrap spacers that happened to work. So I didn't use any wood.

That's weird that was a problem anyways. I've had my DB since January and never had a clamp come off. Not sure if you had initially tried to reach out to DB considering you been dealing with it for two years, but if maybe there was a change in the clamps or something I'd imagine DB being the company they are would have sent out replacements.

Pretty good fix though. ?
