i am looking for new tires 275/70r17 and noticed the XT are 49 lbs and the K03 are 57 lbs. Seems like a big differance since both are E rated.
Would prefer better ride comfort and was wondering if the XT would be better.

E rated tires are the opposite of ride comfort. Buy a C rated tire.

Move up to a more common size like the Rubicon/Mojave 285/70r17 and save a ton of money.

In that size there is a Falken Wildpeak AT4W that is C rated, and weighs 58 lbs.
There is also a D rated KO3 from BFG that lists weight as 55.62 lbs.
Both of these are around $300 each.
While upping to a 285/70 17 does increase the number of choices, Discount Tire lists 16 C rated options in that size, it really doesn't save you any money. Unless you find a nice set of Rubi take-offs in good shape at a good price.

I would for sure be looking for a C rated tire, D rated at the most. That tends to help with ride quality as a softer sidewall helps the crude suspension on a Jeep.

Thanks for the info im going to look at these options. I would like to stick to a C since I only do mild off road and its my daily driver.
