Couple of things I see between the two rigs you linked for you to consider - the Rubicon has the front bumper that will allow you to add a winch easily, and also has a bed cover already installed. It also has leather versus cloth, but both have heated seats. Me - I like the bed cover, leather, and would love to have that bumper!

Next thing to note - is your RAM a 4x4? Have you used it? The Mojave's 4x4 will be similar in gearing to your RAM while the Rubicon has the 4:1 transfer case which makes Low Range 4x4 very LOW and slow - so if you are not used to a low low low range - then the Rubicon could take some getting used to. The sway bar disco's aren't a big deal - that is a VERY easy aftermarket change you can make on the Mojave if you decide you want more low speed flex.

I agree the tire/wheel combo on the Rubicon is very Mall Princess style (limited sidewall for aired down flex) and seems a little wide - I'd be worried about rubbing on full turn with the sway bar disco'd.

The Mohave X comes with steal bumpers, and heater steering wheel and front seats, leather seats, 4.10 gears. The bed cover, bed liner etc. are dealer addons

If its your 99% daily driver , get a high tide. Best bang for your buck. Has dana 44s . No lockers. You won't need them unless your are doing serious off roading . Rubicon and mojave has suspension for what they do . Other gladiators ride smooth like butter. If you in the chicago land area. Ill let you drive it .

So a pretty good deal on a 2020 JTR has come across my searching. It’s got just shy of 70k miles. I know there’s couple forums talking on issues from the 2020’s. Sway bar, steering box, cooling, ect. , at 70k miles do yall think the kinks have been worked out? For $26k w/ a lift, factory winch ready stubby bumper, led light group, and all the bells and whistles that are in the Rubicon it’s almost hard to pass up.

You'd have to look and see. What lift is on it? Was it used and abused?

From looking at the interior and the body it doesn't look like they beat on it. As for the lift, can't really tell unless like you said, I go look at it, but it looks like a 1.5-2" lift maybe. It is a Massachusetts truck which I know some people say avoid vehicles from up north because of all the salt and what it'll do to your frame. Being in WV though where they require inspections on vehicles and this coming with a good inspection I don't have too big of a concern on that. Plus if they took care of it, they would make sure the undercarriage stayed clean.

I would definitely have an experienced mechanic whom you trust look at that vehicle first. The 2020/2021 model years had their faults, and 70k doesnt sound like a lot, but it can be. Fine tooth comb time.

Well, after all the searching I finally got a Gladiator Sport S. When I boiled it down, the Sport did everything I would ever ask of it to do with having a newborn and 6 year old. As much as I would love to do long overland/off roading trips, my wife hasn’t quite gotten there so dirt roads and backroads will be where we go mostly. I do want to get new tires, granted the highway tires make for a smooth and quieter ride, it’s just missing that slightly aggressive look. (And no, I’m not meaning angry grill aggressive.) I definitely need to invest in some mud flaps though, that’s just from driving out the driveway at my work. 😅

You’re going to love it!! In my honest opinion Sport S is the perfect platform to start from. Just enough goodies to get you out there with a lot of room to grow YOUR OWN WAY.
I’ve had it since Friday and I love it and the fam does too which is a plus! My 6 yr old asked if we could take the top off while it was pouring the rain. 😂
