And I can see those items being very useful, if you have a Rubicon.Yeah, I think I went Tazer because it seemed the most "complete" for the $.
- Winch feature: Turn it on and it runs the engine at 2000RPMs to maximize the alt. output while winching.
- Lockers in 4H
- Swaybar disconnect in 4H
But for those of us with a lowly Sport variant, it's not. Except the RPM increase for higher alternator output.
Bigger brakes? 35" tires dangerous?I was also hoping to take the JT on a road trip this June, but now I am wondering if I should. everything I have read (so far) mentions getting bigger brakes etc. Also hear a lot about 35s being "dangerous" at freeway speed. While I take it with a grain of salt (time/experience helps), it is something to think about.
Where are you reading that?
I put over 12,000 miles on my JT in the first 3 months, and it does just fine on the highway in stock configuration.
Why would you need bigger brakes? The Jeep rotors are damn near as big as the rotors on an F250, and the 250 is a LOT heavier than the JT!
And while a lot of owners wish they had goe with 37's instead of 35's, it's not because of safety issues...
