Hey does anyone know which bulbs fit in the foot well? I have just the plan white lights and I would like to change it to orange if possible.

this is one thing I have noticed about the JT. the interior lighting is pretty much non existent. coming from toyota, there are kits available from other manufacturers that allow you to add (plug and play) led to front and rear. they really make a difference.

so far I've not found anyone that has such a kit for the JT.

So, the LED is built into a complete plug-and-play housing. The part number is 68346813AB and it's about $26. It looks like this:

Jeep Gladiator Foot well light bulb 1675393677772

I once found a kit that gave instructions on how to disassemble the housing and replace the lenses with colored ones, but I cannot find it for the life of me. If I am able to find it again, I'll post here.

But, for $26 you could order one and take it apart and maybe find a DIY solution? I know it can be done (from the link I can't find)...

wow that seems like overkill just to change the light color. Haha thanks for all of your help, this was super helpful.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and a little homework, probably can find some compatible SMD LED's to swap in for relatively cheap.

@ORACLElights here is your opportunity to make some direct replacements.

I've been wanting to swap mine to blue and make them brighter, but being an OEM design doesn't seem like it's worth the trouble.

Were happy to chime in! What our team does is offer the Footwell Lighting option, and disconnect the factory footwell, or you can keep it and have both.

We recently installed the ColorSHIFT footwells on a Bronco local to us and it came out fantastic! Really bright, and the color changing gave her many options!

I just want 'em brighter - the factory are dim, but I can't see spending $100 just for a couple of brighter LED lights.

It would seem to me that someone could come up with a plug and play brighter light that simply plugs into the factory connector and takes minutes to install - and costs only 25 bucks or so.
I don't want wire cutting, soldering, whatever - just unplug the factory dim light and plug in a brighter LED. (my wife would want a slight purple hue to the light, though, for her JL and a touch of blue would be ok in mine)

That's fair! I do not have anything in R&D currently, but if we do, I will certainly loop you in! ;)

One other comment on JTs and 3M adhesive tapes on the interiors of JTs. Good luck.
Every place that sells those cubbies that go onto the shifter console area - the one on the right never stays put. Look at reviews. No matter how you clean that console or what you clean it with, the right side cubby falls off in days. Two trucks I've tried it on and I have 3M tape that holds big strips of trim to the bumpers and sides of cars - holding up almost a pound of weight in those big rubber strips. You have to almost rip the paint off the bumper to get the strips back off and yet the same thing won't hold a 2 ounce plastic piece to the side of a Jeep console. So - I wonder if the 3M adhesive will work with LED strips which do get warm...... there will be more weight to them.
(both trucks, I had to literally screw the right cubby to the console - nothing else worked)

Maybe take your LED strips and add the factory Jeep connectors to them, make 'em plug and play.
