I just took ownership of a 2025 Mojave X. I am coming from a 2021 Willy's that had a 5-inch screen and minimal technology.
One of my first orders of business was opting out of all data/telematic services offered by the vehicle.
My first phone call was to this number:
which seemingly seemed only to be Sirius Guardian.
When I received my vehicle, I received the typical 'Welcome' emails which included enrolling into Jeep Connect.
I never ended up enrolling and the Guardian rep confirmed that there was no telematic data being transmitted to Sirius themselves due to my lack of enrollment with the exception of the following scenarios:
1. An accident were to occur that causes airbags to deploy
Or
2. The vehicle is stolen and a police report is filed in which Sirius Guardian can work with law enforcement to help track down the vehicle.
Of course that's only what they told me. If true, I'm not fully bothered by it.
They did recommend I reach out to the following two phone numbers to further inquire about opting out of the (potential) day-to-day telematic tracking that may still be present
One is at Stellantis HQ and the other is at uConnect's supposed telematic division directly.
Stellantis:
(800) 777-3600
uConnect:
(877) 855-8400
I did not get the opportunity to ring the other two but intend on it tomorrow and will report back.
Am sharing in case anyone else wants to call. I didn't think to ask with Sirius but intend to w/ Stellantis, and that is to request in writing (an email) that my VIN has in fact been removed from any telematic/data collecting services.
Kind of crazy this even has to be occurring after the purchase of a truck but that's the world we live in now.
God speed
