Question, I ordered only the premium soft top only, I hate the space the hard top took up in the garage. How tightly to the roll bar does it get when folded neatly up as opposed to just throwing it back. I have seen a few on the road just pushed back flapping and was hoping to make it better when I do it. The fact that it sits on top.bothers me but I get why they didn't put it.on top of the bed, just something I will have to get use to.

@Moonridge I need a favor from you. Can you measure the difference in height with the soft top open vs closed? I ordered my JT with the soft top and I have been wondering if I'll be able to pull in and out of my garage with the top open
I have a small garage and mine fits under the door with room to spare, but I am stock. No lift.

So I have the hard top only..Since I won't need a soft top until summer, I'm assuming all the major manufacturers will be coming out with a soft top?..This is my 1st Jeep and trying to learn all I can about mods..

I was very hesitant about purchasing a soft top on the Gladiator. My last two Jeeps had hard tops but the problem was that I never found myself taking off the top near as much as I did with the soft top (the four Jeeps prior).

I took a chance and ordered the JT with a soft top (knowing full well I might get a hard top later).

Frankly, I have been pretty impressed with the soft top - both on clean appearance and surprisingly low(ish) road noise.
On the same boat. Have a 2012 JK originally purchased with a hardtop. Took the freedom stops off often. But in 6 years took the complete top once. Having owned Jeeps before, I know that's not what Jeep ownership is about.

Had someone break into my Jeep by pushing up on the freedom top and seperating the inner white plastic part from the black part. Then undoing the latches. Replacing one of those is expensive and almost impossible as everyone selling used ones wants to sell the set. I opted for buying a soft top. Best decision made. Since then I put down my top often. THATS what Jeeps are all about.

With the JT I love how the hardtop looks. Specially the color matched in Silver. BUT I struggled with that decision for about 15 seconds. As I remembered how much fun the soft top is.

So soft top. For me

I love the Premium Soft top on my Overland It opens fast and easy and closes fast and easy, The black Twill fabric looks great with the black twill fabric tonneau cover. The Road noise on local roads is not to bad although I'm sure at higher speed on a major highway it will be louder. I received an Addendum to the owners manual from FCA stating the rear window and the side panels
DO NOT have to be removed when the top is opened, iF the Twill fabric was not an option and only vinyl top was offered, I would have ordered the 3 Piece black hard top

I came across this thread searching for an answer on leaving the back window in. I found this video from MOPAR.
