So, for the second time I got into my truck and found a small amount of water on the sill of the front passenger side door just above the door lever. The first time I had concluded that the water got in due to the high wind associated with that rain storm. However, this weekend's rain did not include wind and I still found water in the same place.

Anyone have any thoughts on what this may be or have had a similar thing occur?

It's the door seal. I just went through that a couple of months ago where after a rain storm, water was collecting in the floor pan on the passenger side.

Water was getting by the door seal, running down the inside of the door itself, and under that plastic piece at the lower door threshold, eventually puddling in the floor pan.

Steaership replaced the whole door seal for around $850 (yeah...mostly labor costs at $180/hr).

Now, no runs, drips, or errors.

Thanks Steven. At that price I may try and tighten the close point on the door by adjusting the latch. It bothers me that it is not all rain and it also doesn't occur when I wash the truck.

If you want to attempt to try to just replace the seal on a door yourself, check the price of what the costs are from one of the mopar part sites. There is a mopar parts guy on here that may even walk you through what you really need. Who knows could be vastly cheaper that way and since it's a removal and install of a non-vital part, if it was me I'd at least do some quick looking to see if it would save me a substantial amount to do it myself. But then again I've never done it and it could require special tools for all i know....so I'd do some checking around and from my experience price from one mopar parts site to another sometimes is vastly different.

I fixed my tailgate lock for $40 and 10 minutes of my time due to this, dealer wanted like $400 to do that. That project turned out to be stupidly simple and I didn't know any better until I came across a youtube video.

Thanks guys.

I found this video though my gasket is not damaged like the one he is replacing, seems pretty straight forward.
