I’ve been putting everything in correctly, but it barely zips up. I’m starting to wonder if the headliner I installed is taking up extra room, I hope not because it’s warmer, quieter, and not stark white. although only the length is problematic. Width and depth have plenty of extra space.Has anybody experienced issues with the freedom top storage bag being too small? The tops barely fit in on mine, almost can’t close the zipper. Loosened it up a bit with 303 Aero protectant, but stiil a bear to use. Or is there a better aftermarket solution?
Also wondering which soft top is the best value.
I did get the fabric to loosen up quite a bit using 303Aerospace protectant, but not enough. I ended up cheating by heating the black foam slots where the wide part fits into. They compressed just enough so that after heating and zipping in the tops, I left the bag upright to cool and set. Now the zipper isn’t so stressed, and the slotted foam block still has plenty of coushion.
BTW, the headliner was the CoverKing brand it installed easily, looks great, and it looks OEM, not like it was added.
I did use some extra 3M adhesive tape in areas I suspected might need it. Also, there are small slits of white fiberglass that peek through the edges, but painting those areas black hides that well. If I didn’t use a headliner, I’d still paint the roof insides black. That white looked bad alongside the black interior.
