I have a 21’ Gladiator Willys and when climbing sand hills at the dunes I have severe front axle hop when the tires start to lose traction. I have the tire pressure set 12psi. Does anyone have an idea what causes this and what might correct it? My JK never did this when running the same hills and same tire pressures.

I’m a 4x4 noob, but if you’re in 4-wheel drive and your rears are spinning, wouldn’t the fronts have to spin at the same rate? But since there’s less traction up front due to weight transfer to the rear on an uphil, the fronts hop as they try to keep up with the rears?

That sounds painful.

I think all we can do is eliminate any soft bushings in the front control arms ( probably replacing all 4) with some version of spherical type.
