I installed a 4.5" Metalcloak lift on my 2020 JT Overland, and my shop is suggesting a new front drive shaft. Metalcloak seems to think I need one, too, and I trust their customer service.

Suggestions?
  • Metalcloak drive shaft?
  • Tom Wood's?
  • Adams?
  • It's fine. Leave the OEM alone for now.

Your usage will determine that.

You could also do rough country but that won't give you bragging rights, lol.

One guy here put spacers over his skid bar to get necessary clearance. I thought that was a good idea.

Yeah, Rocksports.
Rocksports will allow the front to droop enough to deform the flange at the transfer case enough to damage it. If you're going to wheel it, either put a limit strap on the driver's front and keep an eye on the flange, or proactively replace the front shaft.

When I changed to 4 1/2 inch Evo plush ride coils I went with Adams 1350 front/rear driveshafts - no issues, no vibrations
