I had a similar experience a long time ago, when I buried my 76 Scottsdale stepside's diffs into frozen mud at about 20 mph.
Four other trucks pulling on it did nothing, and it took two wreckers a while to get it out.
If you do get stuck in mud, try not to leave it there to freeze up, or wait until Spring to get it out.
