Not to start anything, but it seems like the jeep version may be a better option due to the drain system. Am I missing something?
BTW.. I have these in the wifes JKU.

I chose the WT liners over Mopar because the WT has a one-piece liner for the rear instead of a 2-piece snap together rear from Mopar.

Maybe Mopar fronts and a WT rear would be the best combo?

It all depends on how you intend to use it. I got the Jeep version (Mopar units) off of Amazon, but did not cut out the drain holes. I just put them in over top of the carpet. I mainly wanted a debris collector to make cleaning easier.

Agreed, I don't need the drain and my personal experience with WT liners over anything else is vastly superior; Including previous Mopar offerings.

Glad I got the MOPAR ones. Those are too plain for the JT. I actually like the two piece rear as well. When I had the WT in my previous cars it was a pain to get the single piece out of the back without scratching any leather.

Hey, Larry from Armor Auto Parts, we offer both. Weathertechs are very nice, Jeep brand has the drain option.

Larry, could you show us a picture of the rear weathertech mats installed in the backseat? I'd like to know how far back they go. I'm not using the divider or the lockbox.

I don't think starting something is bad; different perspectives is good. I did buy the WT mats but this whole drain system/mat combo is typical over engineering. What amount of liquid is routinely going to be in your vehicle such that you would drain the liquid but not also remove the mat to clean? That could be my OCD kicking in, but this is nonsense in my opinion. I've owned Jeeps my whole life and I can count the number of times I've used this option on one hand; and, it was more the novelty of a faster clean up than necessity. Although we no longer live in the Midwest, even with massive amount of snow on our shoes/boots, we never needed to drain anything. I don't get it and the color of the plug doesn't match the mat at all so even aesthetically it's unappealing.

Scratching leather?!?!? This has never happened. I'd like pics of this and also all the liquid routinely carried in your floor liners. Just looking to understand all angles of this conversation.

I didn't say anything about liquid. The ones I had on my Cherokee had spikes on the bottom to hold them in place. Can't say that I cared enough to take any pictures of my Cherokee though.

Jeep killed me with the damn red accents, wish WT had the drain as I do like the feature even if it is a bit over-engineered but man they just went balls to the wall with this red interior accent and I really wish it was optional... swapped to tan leather and took off the mats from my order mats totally because of the red logo and tan i liked the look and loosing the red dash was just more incentive.

I have ran weathertech in our fleet vehicles for over a decade now. We are in cold weather climate. There indeed is often enough melted snow that must be dumped or sucked out. The problem with the rear liners being one piece is that they have to be folded and manipulated to get out, especially the portions that go under the seats.
For a long time, no one could match weathertech, but now there are other players in the market that offer competing products. I don't know who makes the jeep ones, but they are really nice. The factory drain makes them a no brainer. Unless aesthetics are a concern, I would recommend the mopars over weathertech in this application.

Interesting. We're originally from Iowa (snow) and never had an issue, but now that we are in NC we have even less of a reason to worry about liquids. It's more just gravel, etc. and we can dump it easily!
