Gaia (or ?) maps for street?

Trying to decide which to go with. Does Gaia, or any other, also do street maps for every day driving? Plan is to use my old rooted Nexus 7 mounted on a Ram ball.

It does route street directions, but doesn't list steps or voice nav. I've use Gaia since it was launched, and it's awesome. But for simple street routing I use Google maps, just quicker and more intuitive.
