I had this thought …
Our club is having a picnic (300 people) and it’d be nice to have some sort of PA system to make announcements.

…. What if the Gladiator bluetooth speaker could be turned into a PA system?
Something that’ll project your voice far enough…. to a group in a small area, and it’s portable.

I use the speaker enough that its attaches to my phone and it plays music. 😆
I’m sure I’d need a separate app …. and maybe a microphone… or use the phone.?? I have no clue. Has anyone done this with a bluetooth speaker before?

Thoughts?
This isn’t something we need for the picnic, but if I can figure out how (easily & cheaply) - why not?

Several apps for Android phone for Megaphone, and they are compatible with wired or bluetooth speakers.

This would work well for small groups. I have noticed in other events, mic and PA speakers are still not load enough, and need an upgrade.

Thanks!
I found a Freebie App called Virtual Mic...(I'm using Apple). Unfortunately, the JT is at the shop getting an oil change/tire rotation so I can't TEST the app/speaker!!! 😂 I have time yet...event isn't for a couple weeks yet.

Be sure to test this out in a public area. Like outside a shopping mall, or at the local pickle ball courts. That way you know people can hear it. The more random the comments you make over the phone the better gauge you have if you’re really being heard or not. :like:

Same here. The BT speaker would have been around a $400 option but you could only add it to the Alpine.

If one doesn't have it, can it be added- or better is there a way to get a non-Jeep BT speaker to work with the OEM system?

The Functionality of the speaker doesn't have anything to do with the Jeep. It's just a speaker.
You connect it to your phone and can play it anywhere (without the jeep).

The only thing that makes it JEEP.....there's a nice spot behind the seat where it plugs in and recharges using a specialized connection.

That 'specialized connection' might be difficult to find an adapter or dongle to hook it up to a regular Bluetooth speaker charge cord.

I thought it was supposed to connect to the factory audio system. What a rip off.

The factory installed BT speaker does connect to the audio system, when it is connected in its cradle. Otherwise, it is just an expensive BT speaker. It is a factory only option that cannot be added to the sound system afterwards. The cradle and charging capability can be added, but not tied in to the Sound System.

You can find a way better speaker through BestBuy to run off the phone. I picked up a Bose Bluetooth for about half price from the open box options to use when I was driving the Pacifica home. It was too old to have the cool connectivity without spending a few hundred to get it working. I use that thing everywhere!! Gardening, washing or working on the Jeep, working on the well, any kind of yard work really. Not a fan of headphones and they don’t fit over my hats anyway so it works for me.
