Interesting that an INITIAL QUALITY (meaning how it was built by the people and machines working at the factory, following the specs given to them) turns into an engine comparison.

This is why the initial surveys on this sort of thing get skewed - people ignore "initial quality" and bitch about the location or size of a cup holder or the radio size is too small or too big.

People don't know the difference between design and engineering vs, initial quality of a finished product screw the design factors.

It's why some polls show a vehicle being of poor quality when it's really people bitching about stuff that has zip to do with quality. The vehicle was perfectly built but some didn't like some silly thing and rated the vehicle down.

I just got my 25 Gladiator. (First Jeep). For speed it has nothing on the nearly antique Dakota I traded, but I drove most of the new competition before buying this. Colorado, Canyon, Tacoma, Frontier. I think on paper they all had more power, but for feel the Gladiator wins hands down. They all felt like they were straining with my normal heavy foot. The Gladiator didn't care.
Ride too. The others felt like Cadillac's, not trucks. I nearly got carsick with how fluid the Canyon felt.

Everyone wants a different feel of course. I'm used to stiff "sporty" suspensions, though I took some speedbumps today at a speed that would have totaled my cars and barely felt them.

25 Mojave X rides like a modern half ton truck ...really nice.

My Dakota had stiff suspension and balloon tires. My Gladiator seems to have a softer suspension but has the "low profile" tires (by Jeep standards). Overall they seem about equal.
