Hey guys. Recently picked up a JTR 6 speed with the mid level uconnect. I want to add a subwoofer to my Jeep. I had a kicker 12 inch CompR on a 400 watt amp in my two door JK and was very pleased with that sound although it was a bit much at times. My requirements are fairly simple. I have decent woodworking skills and was going to go one of two options. Mount a 10 inch sub behind the rear seats (I want to keep the under seat storage area as this is important to me, and I like that I can lock the seats in the up position to keep prying eyes off the subwoofer) and fabricate a wooden box for it, or mount a kicker hideaway (or the Alpine equivalent) under the driver seat. I don't want any crazy interior rattling bass, but am afraid the hideaway all in one type unit might not be enough. Also, how difficult is adding a sub and amp to the new uconnect? Can I just tap into the soundbar speaker wires for signal and call it a day? Also going to replace the soundbar speakers as well as adding polyfill down the line but subwoofer is first on the list. Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks!
