Gladiator

I just wanted to introduce myself.
Dan from Oklahoma. I’ve owned jeeps since I was old enough to have any money. I’ve got a 65 and 68 cj5 and a 64 Cj3b. Main reason I joined, I’m thinking about a Gladiator Rubicon. My wife loves jeeping and we’ve done lots of the passes in and around Ouray, including Black Bear.
My question about the Gladiator, can you legitimately pull a 7000 lb travel trailer without just gutting. Looking forward to you guys answers and opinions.

To legally tow 7k, you would need the Max Tow or a Rubicon equipped for it. Towing 7k with either one is not what I would call a perfect situation. If a Rubicon Gladiator is all you have, yes it can do it. If you are looking for a tow vehicle, look at something else.

If you plan on towing a camper thousands of miles, I would consider something designed for towing.

If you want a Gladiator for some off road fun and want to haul a camper, I get it. I would look at a smaller camper.

Yes you can, and people do. In Oklahoma it's probably no big deal.

But I pull a 4k camper with mine and don't love it, wouldn't consider a 7k camper if I only had a Gladiator.

I have a Sport S with the Ecodiesel, and yes, I can tow my 16' cargo trailer with ease, but it's not something I would do daily or for a long distance. Cross winds are the biggest pain with this platform. You definitely get pushed around. I keep an older F250 for the towing needs.
Now, a bass boat, or something lighter/shorter? Sure.
