.... 8th time is the charm?  Honestly I'm happy any time someone can upset Saban, so kudos doggos. I do, however, still have a problem with the CFP system - rematches shouldn't be a thing IMO.

Meh- I'm all for expanding, but at the end of the day the only job is to get the two best teams to play for the title. They definitely did that this year

Oh I don't think expansion is the right answer either. I feel like the BCS was ultimately broken by the SEC and the now CFP is getting similarly bruised here. I don't have a solution, I'm just still salty over 2011 when LSU had the same thing happen to them.

I like expanding, any time you can remove the decision from "corporate" and make the teams prove their worth is a good idea.

I think we put way too much emphasis on conference though. Even being a SEC fan, I don't like the idea of "if you win your conference you automatically get it" plus the top 1-2 non-power5 teams getting in too. Come up with a points/ranking system, make it known to everyone, and use that to get in. If a non-power5 school wins every game by 50, they should get in. Points scored, yardage gained, points allowed, yardage given up, strength of schedule, and depth.

I grew up in Atlanta and went to school there for a few of my college years. I can’t believe I saw a Braves World Series and a UGA National championship within a few months of each other.

The only negative is my fiancée went to Bama and she’s super salty about it. I told her to get over it and let me have this, I’d be ridiculously happy to win it like every other year. Bama fans are sore losers. They aren’t used to it. We had to agree to not watch when UGA and Bama play each other. She takes it way too seriously. When they played last year, we turned it off at halftime because we were fighting. SEC football is serious business. Lol.

It is! I'm an oddball - Went to GT for a bit, then LSU. Was never a true dawg fan, but always not a Bama fan so there is that.

Her whole family is hardcore. She’s the only one who actually went to school there. I’ve tried hard to be accepting, but they are belligerent sometimes. Her whole damn N AL town is. I remember a few months back helping her mom with yard work and almost every damn car that went by was listening to some local radio show with a Saban interview. I’ve never seen/heard anything like it.

Yeah, not the same but 96 was pretty cool too. Being a kid watching the Olympics basically take over the state, and then getting to go to Braves games in that new stadium. Those were some fun times. We had to clean out my FILs house about a year ago now and found so much obscure Olympics paraphernalia it was crazy.

Olympics were cool, I was 10 and got to go see a soccer game because that was the only tickets we could get, my folks felt like we needed to go see something. I had a hat and a few pins, but unfortunately I think most of it was lost on me no caring. Still gotta give the nod to 2021 though.

Yeah I was about the same age. Sometimes I remember and realize how cool it was for us as kids - Between the Braves and the Olympics it was a good time to be a kid. I know you're not wrong about this year either though, just brought up some good memories!
