Grill differences on trims.

Tried to check through the forum for this answer, but may have missed the definitive answer. From what I can tell, the Rubi and Mojave have a 2 (or 3?) piece front grill, so that if you get the satin black grill there is still a body color perimeter. What I can't tell for sure is what the Sport S comes with on the JT. The online configurator surely looks like it is a single piece, but then again, that's how it shows for the Mojave as well when checked.

Both the Sport and the Sport S come with the single piece grill.

Willys models come with a single piece gloss black grill

Overlands (and a few other region specific models) come with a three piece grill with silver trim

Rubicon and Mojave come with the three piece grill with graphite trim.

Then there's the optional Satin black grills available on most models, which are three piece, with color matched outside trim.

To narrow down my question - that is what I was trying to figure out - i.e. if you order the Satin Black grille on a Sport S, do you get the 3 piece grill (black interior with body color matched trim like the Rubi and Mojave), or would it look like the Willys with the trim being black as well.

Ah, my bad, didn't catch that part. From looking at some peoples order posts, when they optioned it on their build sheet, it came with the paint matched trim pieces.

On on this topic, it would seem that if you get a Sport S and want the body color matched trim pieces, you would really need to order it that way from the factory. I had debated not adding the black grill on the build sheet, but just ordering the part later (so I could swap back to the body color if desired for whatever reason), but in that case it would seem like you would end up with more the Willys look.

Seems that way, although looking further into those build sheets, I realized that those orders were for overlands (really had to tell them apart from sports without the silver grill), so that may not be the case. Maybe you could reach out to the dealer just to get some confirmation, and if all else fails, I know you can order the trim pieces already color matched.

From what I can gather from pictures, upper trim levels have a bezel around each slat of the grill.

I couldn't get the black satin grill when i ordered my 20 JTR because it wasn't available with the trail cam. Instead, I bought a black satin grill from BAM a few months ago and swapped it out for my color matched grill. I did have to put the color matched trim pieces on around the grill and ended up swapping out the center "mesh" section for the one that had my trail cam attached. It was more of a pain than it should've been, but I was happy with the final product.

Thanks Vagabond. I know for the Rubi/Mojave/Overland - they get the Mopar Satin Black Grill with the body color surround when optioning, or you can just order in the middle grill section (you would already have the body color moldings).

For the Sport S though in particular, it is very confusing/conflicting - as Sport S's stock, are all a single piece grill section (no inserts, no surround pieces) and then the Willys, which comes with a black grill are also all one piece like the Sport/Sport S, just all black.

Even when configuring a Sport S on the build-and-price, the images are straight up contradictory. See below for the picture of the option when you click more info for the Satin Black Grill (shows a Rubi) - and then what is added to the configurator(looks just like a Willys). SO, who knows what you'll actually get :/

If there are any Sport S owners who picked the Satin Black Mopar Grill from the factory and can confirm what you got - that would be appreciated. I just know that this question to a dealer is likely to get lost.
