I put Dana 5.13's into my Gladiator Willy's and absolutely love it. It came standard with the 3.73 gears and after adding the Teraflex CT2 lift + a steel bumper, winch, 35's x5, it was lagging to say the least. I was still putting out about 17.5mpg with most of my driving being about 50-60 mph, however the new gears have that thing seemingly weightless now, and I'm averaging 20-21mpg on the same drive. Initially I was going to put 4.88's into it but a smart guy convinced me to go with 5.13. The acceleration on it is outstanding, on highway, wind, inclines the truck stays in 8th gear, highly recommended.

Exactly on. 2200 at 65. 2000 at 58 on AT
I only knew because I've been doing the math between 4.88 and 5.13 since it looks like I'll be doing lockers and gears prior to my 35s wearing out and getting upgraded to 37s. I'd be sitting around 2,700 on the freeways around here but then there's that part of me that realizes all my old trucks spun 3k on the freeway and I'm probably just worrying too much.-

Hit the 5.13s your engine will be much happier with the added weight of 37s, highway driving will be a little downside but your Offroad and city will be outstanding

Why a downside...could you please elaborate? Aren't the 5.13's supposed to make it feel like stock if not better?

People said I was nuts for going 4.56 with 31” tires on my old ZJ.

Ive found a bit more gear is good; especially because most that are re-gearing have more than big tires. They often have a winch, metal bumpers, other heavy junk, and are lifted. The lift seemed to necessitate more gear the same as tires. Over coming the extra wind resistance and maintaining speed requires a greater mechanical advantage.

The gas redlines, what, 6k+ rpm?
Cruising 3k rpm doesn’t sound bad at all.
