Jscan has a beta feature for programming keyfobs with push to start. Has anyone here successfully programmed a fob? It requires a pin code foe the key but I can't find my pin, does anyone know where this can be found?

Can't do it on Gladiators.

From the JSCAN docs -

Jeep Gladiator Has anyone successfully programmed a keyfob with jscan? 1675609218713

Jeep Gladiator Has anyone successfully programmed a keyfob with jscan? 1675609336870

Jeep Gladiator Has anyone successfully programmed a keyfob with jscan? 1675609433250

Jeep Gladiator Has anyone successfully programmed a keyfob with jscan? 1675609465298

It may work with FCA vehicles older than 2018 but even then no guarantee.

Bummer..Based on that.. only guessing if I go to the dealer to see if they can read my pin code, I can program for from there? I see Alpha obd can program it, but I have jscan.. might have turn to alpha obd to try?

I've never tried either one for fob programming.
So far haven't lost a fob nor had one go bad (knock on wood)
The JSCAN docs are a little bit old - but I also note that AlfaOBD is more technically deep - they don't release updates until they have the real dope from FCA where JSCAN seems to instantly work with any model - but don't have the depth that AlfaOBD has.
I know that a third fob can be added if you have two existing working fobs - at least according to people selling fobs on Amazon.
There's also sometimes a limit on the number of fobs but I'm just going by what I read.

Go to the JSCAN facebook page and contact them using FB messenger - he seems to respond within a day or two most of the time. He won't give lists of instructions but will answer "yes it can" or "not it can't", etc.

I sent jscan a message on fb, they told me jscan cant read the keycode, however if I get the keycode another way then it will program the fob with no issues. I went through all of my paperwork from the dealer hoping the key code was in it somewhere, with no luck. As I am still new to being a jeep owner, I ask is there a way I can obtain my keycode? Is it etched somewhere on the JT?

No. You can only obtain the PIN from the parts department, in person, with proof of ownership. That is one of the most protected pieces of information about the vehicle.
BUT…don’t even bother trying, because the PIN you would receive from them is useless to you. It is a four digit rolling PIN, meaning it changes every time it is requested, and is only valid when using wiTECH connected through dealer connect.
What you need is the static PIN that is permanently stored, which is a 5 digit PIN. There are fob programmers that can pull that PIN, but at that point, you would just use the fob programmer to finish programming the fob. I have one of those fob programmers, and even using it to pull the PIN on these 2018+ RF Hubs, the fob programming still doesn’t work on Jscan or AlfaOBD using that PIN.

There is a limit of 8 fobs that the RF Hub will accept.
There’s no way to program a fob using two working fobs.

Those who sell FOBs for Jeeps say in order to program it in using their instructions, you must have two working fobs. Must have been for our other Jeeps. (or older Wrangler)

It was possible back when they were using WIN modules for the ignition, but definitely not since they started using RF Hubs.

Yeah, makes sense - things changed around 2018 and even the JSCAN docs say can't be done on 2018 and later.

It's just so easy to have a dealer do it.
But be aware, some seem to not know that it can even be done. I was told by a DEALER that a third FOB can't be added because the systems are locked and once programmed, can't be changed. Yeah, a dealer's service advisor told me that. BS.

I'm wondering if that was for like the JK or other older Jeeps.

I messaged jscan yesterday, they responded back and said jscan cannot obtain the static 5 digit pin like alpha obd, but once I obtain the 5 digit pin, he told me I could program the fob successfully in their beta program.

That might actually be in the works. Right now, there is a flash for the challenger and charger RF Hubs that locks the RF Hub. Once that’s done, fobs can not be programmed or erased, even by them. The RF Hub would need to be replaced if someone lost all fobs.

I believe so. JL is when the rf hub was implemented.

AlfaOBD can not obtain the PIN either (FYI, AlfaOBD and Jscan both use the same chrysler program to obtain the info they use to build their apps)
I can tell you without a doubt, that Jscan or AlfaOBD can not program a fob on the newer RF Hubs even with the correct PIN. I’ve tried it every which way with multiple different RF Hubs from multiple different 2018+ vehicles (with the exception of 2018+ ram classic).
Actually, I’ll go try again right now, since I happen to have a 2021 Ram 2500 module set on my bench setup right now. I’ll get some pics of what goes on.

Alright, coming back to say- sorry, I should have checked Jscan and seen the update log included fobik programming tweaks a week ago. It DOES work now! But, unfortunately, still need a viable way to pull the PIN. That’s the one thing Jscan and AlfaOBD have to figure out on their own, because the Chrysler diagnostic that they use can only retrieve the 4 digit rolling PIN live online.
I wonder if Jscan developer is in the US, I could send him my programmer to figure out how it pulls the PIN.
I know AlfaOBD has a partner in Texas that might be able to test with.
