Okay, got it, I'm an idiot.. the can high / can low wires end in T-Taps, that's what those are. Instructions show that you should remove the steering column trim and connect them there. I'm not comfortable with that, so I tried running without them. It does function for about 10 seconds and then shuts off. Im going to go ahead and return it at this point, I don't want to screw with my can system while it's under warranty.

For those interested, install was pretty quick and easy. Plug into the OBD-2 dongle, fish the wire up through the IP end cap and connect behind the speaker.

Okay cool thank you. Do you think it would still work with a tazer installed?

That doesn't surprise me. Something like this needs access to the CAN system to get the info. Honestly, I would be more surprised and confused if it were able to function without that. I would think that it's totally expected that anything like a HUD would require access to the CAN bus.
Makes sense. I pulled the plug at that point though because Ive gone out of my way to avoid modifying or tapping into any of the vehicle harnesses. Been trying to keep everything plug and play until the warranties run out haha.

I ended up returning the one that I ordered because I didnt want to tap into the harnesses - Ive been avoiding anything that isnt plug n play until my 100k warranty is up. Have been specifically purchasing components that have matching connectors etc so I dont have to cut or splice into any wires. Curious if another member picked one up and gave it a shot though.

Just bought a new vehicle for my wife and it has an integrated HUD. Didn't think I would like it, but I really do. Wanting to do that to my 2020 Gladiator and came across this OP.

I was wondering if there was anyone in the forum that had in-depth knowledge of the driver info screen (between the gauges). I know it's a 7" screen, but was wondering if it was a screen that could be duplicated - using a projector or display screen mirrored to the cluster and reversed to show on the window...
