Heated Mirrors with Soft Top?

I've searched, and looked in the manual, but not found anything. The manual states that "heated mirrors, if equipped, will be activated whenever the rear window defroster (if equipped) is activated."
My JT is a soft top, so there is no rear window defroster (that i know of?). NOW, my mirrors have the little symbol for the heated mirror, and when I press the rear window defrost button, the light on the button comes on. However, the lights in the symbols on the mirrors do not illuminate.
Do the mirror symbols light up when they're turned on? I keep forgetting to just let them "run" for a bit and just hold my hand to it... so here I am!

Symbol on the mirror does not illuminate like you think it would, at least mine doesn’t but the heated mirrors are activated when you turn press the rear defroster button.

The triangle symbols in the mirrors are part of the proximity warning system, and light up on vehicles so equipped (the sensors are in the tail lights). They let you know there is traffic in your blind spots, and include an audible warning if the blinker is activated when objects are beside you.

To be clear so there is no confusion, we are discussion heated mirrors that come with the cold weather package not the triangle image that lights up when you signal and traffic is along side you.

Yeah, that is just the symbol to indicate a heated and not a standard mirror. The only thing I've ever seen light up is the triangle.

mine is a Sport S soft top with heated mirrors but not cold weather package i.e heated seats and heated steering wheel
